These earrings are inspired by Fucus, a seaweed common along the rocky shorelines of the Salish Sea. Tough, resilient, and deeply rooted, fucus thrives in the intertidal zone.
The original design was hand-illustrated and hand-cut by me, drawing directly from real fucus specimens. From there, the form was translated into a laser-cut version to preserve the fine branching detail, allowing this piece to be made consistently while staying true to the original handwork.
Each pair is finished by hand: raw brass pendants are shaped and hammered to add texture and movement. Over time, the brass will naturally develop a patina, reflecting how it’s worn and lived in.
This has become my most popular design—a quiet favorite that feels both organic and architectural.
